COOPERATIVE RECITAL RULES FOR ENTRY
- No entries will be accepted after the postmarked deadline. Please resolve all scheduling conflicts with other performance groups (Cadet/Youth Orchestras etc.) with the Cooperative Recital Chair two weeks prior to the recital date.
- Teachers will be limited to three students presented in each recital. There will be no changing piece selection prior to the recital. Students cannot/will not be moved from the order they are listed in the recital program. Teachers may be asked to conduct a recital in the absence of the coordinators.
- Beginning students are encouraged to play more than one selection. The pieces should be of a contrasting nature. Beginning students may play up to 5 minutes. All other students may play up to, but no more than, 12 minutes.
- If a student chooses to play an original composition, it must be played from memory.
- No student shall appear, as a soloist, in more than one recital during the season. A student may appear in an ensemble in another recital. This rule will be strictly enforced.
- All compositions must be well-prepared and MEMORIZED (including concerto movements) except ensemble music, organ music, and sonatas for solo instrument with piano.
- It is acceptable for vocalists to perform light numbers (for example, a piece from Camelot).
- All teachers must submit complete program information, in written form, to the Recital Chairman two weeks before the recital date. Any changes to the Cooperative programs must be requested of the Chair no later than two weeks before the program date, unless due to illness or family emergency. Teacher’s CMTA dues must be current.
- The entry form in this directory, or a copy thereof, will be filled out by the teacher. Please print legibly.
- It is an honor to participate in the recital; therefore students should dress appropriately. No casual dress.
- Students will arrive 15 minutes before the recitals to meet the Recital Chairman. The student’s family may save seats and the student may join them at the beginning of the recital.
- NO videotaping, audio recording, or flash photography etc. is allowed.
- Teachers of strings, other instruments and voice must have someone to adjust the piano lid before and after each student plays.
- Cooperative Recital Chair reserves the right to cancel the recital if the recital is less than 30 minutes
